Police Officers' Union Endorses Noriega for City Council
Houston, TX: Former State Representative Melissa Noriega announced today the endorsement of the Houston Police Officers’ Union in her campaign for Houston City Council. The special election will be held on May 12, 2007.
"Public safety is the top priority," said Noriega. "I am honored by the support of our men and women in blue."
With a long history of service in public education and a stint in the Texas Legislature while her husband Rick served in Afghanistan, Noriega brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the race and the council table.
"We look forward to working with Melissa to keep our neighborhoods safe from crime," said HPOU President Hans Marticiuc. "We need a partner like Melissa on Houston City Council."
"These brave public servants put their lives on the line to protect us and our families. They deserve the very best," added Noriega.
