City Hall Illuminates COUGAR RED

City Hall will honor the University of Houston Cougar football team by illuminating City Hall in COUGAR RED beginning Friday, December 2, 2011 through Sunday, December 4, 2011. The Cougar football team completed their regular season undefeated, a first in school history, and will play before a nationally- televised audience this Saturday, December 3, 2011 for the Conference USA Championship.

The University of Houston has experienced some well-deserved success and national recognition in the classrooms and on the fields this year. In January, the nationally respected Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching designated the University of Houston as a Tier One Research University, one of only three public Carnegie-designated universities in Texas. This is the first step towards the university’s goal of becoming a Tier One university.
