Council Member Melissa Noriega is pleased to announce her appointment as Chair of the new Transportation, Technology and Infrastructure Committee. Her colleague, Council Member Oliver Pennington will assume the role of Vice Chair of this twelve member committee.

Council Member Noriega is honored to be appointed by Mayor Parker and looks forward to continuing the work of the city.

METRO Route Workshops Scheduled

Community members who ride on the 48 Navigation, 49 Chimney Rock and 30 Clinton routes are encouraged to attend the METRO workshops to discuss alternatives to these route discontinuations. The workshops are in response to the METRO public hearing held on December 5, 2011.

Council Member Melissa Noriega urges all community riders on these routes to participate in the METRO workshops by providing their valuable input and concerns to METRO.

As many of you know, I worked 27 years for the Houston Independent School District, beginning under Superintendent Billy Reagan. I first had this casserole at a potluck gathering in his office at the administration office. I thought it was so good, I asked for the recipe from Joe Angle, the Deputy Superintendent who brought it. The Noriega family has enjoyed it ever since.
